What will be happening? 

To improve the experience of working in the Sound Innovations for Guitar book in MakeMusic Cloud, over the next couple of weeks, we will be making some updates to the exercises within the book. While we believe those using the book will find great value in the changes being made, implementing them unfortunately means connections to any current assignments, or instances where this content is favorited or on a playlist, will be broken once the new content is introduced. As such,  assignments will need to be reassigned and favorites and playlists will require updated links to the new content.

Why are we doing this? 

We recently added some new tools in the MakeMusic Cloud that allow us to create content, particularly for guitar and multi-staff parts, with greater attention to detail and control. In updating this content, we will be able to provide users with the best experience possible and present the exercises as they were intended by the creators of the book. 

What will be changing?

Many exercises will have their presentation changed so that the all staves in an exercise are displayed to to the user, rather than just one staff of a multi-staff document, when opened in the Practice app. In these exercises, the user can switch between any of the staves in the part just by clicking on them, and reloading the document is no longer necessary. The selected staff will also become the part that is assessed during recording and controls the My Part volume.

To represent the book and the capabilities of the MakeMusic Cloud properly, we have chosen to remove several exercises and these will be available only within the print edition of the book.

This means that the following exercises will no longer be available as interactive content within the MakeMusic Cloud platform:
