I used smart music 15 years ago, and it had all the pieces of the trumpet repertoire you could imagine. I thought it would be fun to try it out again, but the library has either diminished to being not useful to any performer, or the search is not yielding results. For example, I can't find common pieces of the trumpet repertoire like the Hindemith or Halsey Stevens Sonatas, nor could I find the Tomasi concerto. I practiced these on smart music 15 years ago, but they are all gone now. What happened?

I'd love to know about the trumpet repertoire, too. Preparing students for the Hindemith and Arutunian alone made it worth the annual fee. Are there plans to port the standard rep over to the new SmartMusic?

As a private teacher, I just got a subscription to the "new" version after having the classic several years ago in the hope of using it for my advanced students and I have found the flute repertoire also lacking.  I actually was hoping to use it for a few very specific pieces that aren't there tha were on the old version!  Very frustrated!

Hmmm. I bought the classic while it was still available 3 months to get around this issue, but that will be discontinued in September I believe. This was the solution they suggested to me. If you are listening smartmusic, I probably won't be coming back any time soon after the classic edition dies in September if your new software isn't even comparable to the old, and that includes the rep library. It would be nice if you all had an ETA on when you think you can get the library to be comparable.

I am noticing this, too.  It seems more band director friendly than ever, but at the expense of private teaching needs.  Books like the Practical Studies series are missing, many solos, Shuebruk method books, etc.  SmartMusic just won't be worth using if the movement away from basics like these continues.

The same could be said about vocal and choral repertoire.

Same with the flute repertoire. So disappointed. The Ibert Concerto disappeared!

SmartMusic. Is there any update on this? I just checked back given the old version is now discontinued, and the repertoire is basically all gone for Trumpet. I could list pieces, but it should be fairly obvious that the repertoire is massively reduced. Is there any news for when/if this will be fixed?

I feel ripped off because I paid $80 and I no longer have access to all the solos I had a few months ago! when will we have our libraries back? at least the public domain ones on IMSLP!

What happened? I used to use VIVACE when it was a physical device. It seemed like it had a great future... now so many pieces are missing!

I was looking for a list of literature for trumpet before I signed up. I played with SM many years ago and found may of the standards for Halsey Stevens, Hindimeth etc. However, I was not able to see the list until I paid my $40. Now I am wondering where everything went. I hope that someone from Smart Music will reach out and let us know the status of the library. At this time, I am not thinking that this membership is worth it as so much of the "canon" is missing

I also have a problem with the Clarinet rep.  I have asked for help and they seem to be away from the desk.  What happened to the Copland, Concerto,  Hindemith, Sonata,  Mozart, Concerto.  Brahms, Sonatas.  I also paid for the 80.00 version. I teach college students and I got elementary music rep.

    WHAT GIVES?????

    This is a rip off.

I asked them about this over a year ago. It is clear they have no intention or way of bringing back their old rep. I think SmartMusic is just a dead platform now unfortunately. If I were you, just get a refund, because again, this has been an open issue for a long time. I recall asking this initially in August or so of 2019. I checked back a few weeks ago hoping for a change, but I didn't see any progress, so I'm officially giving up on this.
