Anyone having issues where all of a sudden, kids practice time (while playing/recording with the accompaniment) is not being logged in the Practice Analysis tool?  It seemed like it was fine last week and now all of my students are saying it is not logging their time and when I check to see the total for my entire class for today it shows zero.

    Hi again folks. This issue has now been resolved. A statement from MakeMusic is below.

     

    A bug introduced into SmartMusic on April 7th, 2020 turned off practice time tracking in the Practice Analysis tool. We have identified and fixed this issue, but please be aware that student practice time was not captured in SmartMusic from 3:34 am MDT (9:34 UTC) on April 7th through 2:15 pm MDT (20:15 UTC) April 8th.

     

    We have confirmed this did not impact any other features of SmartMusic so your student’s assessment or assignment submissions were not affected in any way.

    YES! ! !  Assigned Content shows up, but no time analysis. This is 50% of how I'm grading students right now.

    OK, I'm glad it's not just me going crazy.  It seems like when they updated everything to include the new sharing and shared with me options is when this all started becoming an issue.  I am using this for grading as well - trying to keep the focus on effort and just keeping their chops up.

    Yes! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one having issues with the Practice Analysis. Anyone know how do we report it?

    Please call tech support - 866-240-4041  

    They are not aware that it's an issue and won't escalate it to higher levels until multiple people report it.

    Yes! It stopped working on Tuesday. I'm grading my students on practice time. They are all sending me messages that it is not working.

    call smartmusic please so that they can fix it. they won't do anything unless they get a lot of complaints.

    Hi folks. I unfortunately don't have much info to provide on this yet, but I wanted to let you all know our developers are currently investigating why practice time isn't being shown. I'll post an update back here as soon as we have more information.

    Today is Oct. 15 and my students are still not having their practice time entered.

    I just submitted a request about this same issue.  I'm grading on this as well.  Most of the kids are showing up, but a handful are not.

    One  of my students took several minutes to record his assignment last and Smartmusic gave him 11hrs of practice time. When questioned, he said he spent about 5 minutes on the assignment and then closed his computer.

    Other students are practicing/recording their assigned times but Analysis shows nothing or just several minutes.  My grading relies on 4hrs of practice a week and my students are ready to mutiny!

    Help!

    Still an issue with students not getting practice time.  Are they only getting credit for practicing when they record a test and submit? I am not happy with Smartmusic. I entered  back in Oct 2020 about this problem.
