Navigating the score

  • Page Counter: Click the left and right arrows to advance pages.
  • Rehearsal Marker dropdown menu: If a score contains rehearsal marks, the marker drop-down menu will include them. Selecting one will take you directly to that rehearsal mark location in the score. Repeated sections will be numbered.
  • Timeline: Click on the Timeline or drag the circular handle to advance the score. Rehearsal marks also appear along the Timeline.
  • Zoom Controls: Click the magnifying glass icons to zoom in or out.
  • Playback Cursor: Note that navigating the score with these options does not relocate the playback cursor. Click directly into the score to place the cursor at the desired starting point.

Settings

The Settings dialog box controls the behavior of the scrolling score, cursor, and metronome.

  • Scroll type drop-down menu: Changes visual layout. Choose between Horizontal scroll or Vertical split.
  • Cursor drop-down menu: Choose the following behavior of the playback cursor:
    • Beat Cursor: Follows the beat established by the time signature.
    • Flow Cursor: Flows smoothly over the music. Recommended for linear scrolling.
    • No Cursor: Disables the cursor completely, leaving only the highlighted measure.
  • Count off: Indicates the number of beats you hear during the count-off before score playback begins. This will change when the playback cursor's starting position is moved to adjust for it's current position.
  • Metronome: Control the tempo numerically or using the slider. Adjust the metronome volume with the Click volume slider or click the speaker icon to mute it.

Instrument parts

The Instrument parts dialog box controls how the parts in the score are displayed and played back.

Instrument parts dialog box

  • Show all and Hide all quickly toggle the show button for every staff on or off. Note that you need to have at least one staff viewable to open the full score view. When working with a large score, this option will help you quickly hide all staves so that you can isolate only a few select staves. Additionally, you can control which staves are viewed by clicking the view toggle button next to each part.
  • Unmute all and Mute all. These options let you control which staves are heard by quickly turning audio on or off for all staves. Additionally, you can use the slider for more granular control over each part, and the mute buttons to toggle the audio on and off.

Tuner

Click the tuner icon to launch our built-in tuner. For more information, see Praying and Practicing Music: Tune Your Instrument.
